Installation
Can I have FS Pro 3.0 and FS Pro 4.0 installed at the same time?
No, FS Pro 4.0 will not function properly if FS Pro 3.0x is installed on the same PC. If you are seeing error messages when starting FS Pro please ensure that FS Pro 3 is not also installed.
Do I need to uninstall FS Pro 3 before installing FS Pro 4 or will it happen automatically?
It is always a good idea to uninstall a previous version of FS Pro before installing a new version. However it is not absolutely required.
Registration
I have to register when I install FS Pro. Can I use the same account as on the web site?
No, you have to register again to install FS Pro 4.0.
- Your account for the web site allows you to download case studies and white papers, try the new FS Pro, etc.
- The account you create during the installation process of FS Pro allows you to unlock your copy of FS Pro.
License keys
I purchased FS Pro, but cannot find my license key. Where can I find it?
You can find your license key(s) in your invoice e-mail, or in the Information Mapping Web Store by clicking My Account > My Orders > View Order > Invoices.
I do not have an internet connection. How do I activate my copy of FS Pro?
Check the Installation Tutorials to learn how to manually activate your copy of FS Pro.
Do I need a new license key when I want to re-install FS Pro or Windows?
No, you do not: the license key remains active on your system, not only if you uninstall and then reinstall FS Pro, but also if you reinstall your Operating System.
We have users with multiple partitions on their PCs, will the licensing support these users?
Yes, we support many different "standard" partition configurations with no problems: we support any drive arrangement that Microsoft itself supports, as long as the computer has a fixed, internal drive and is not booting from something exotic like a copy of the operating system on a network file server or an external USB drive.
Trial version
Is the trial version of FS Pro limited in functionality?
No, the trial version is fully functional for 30 days. When your trial copy of FS Pro has expired, you can still open and use any content created with that version. Please note that you cannot install 2 trial versions on one PC: you will be required to activate FS Pro the second time.

Word 2003 vs Word 2007
When I create a document in FS Pro using Word 2007, and try to open it an a computer that only has Word 2003, FS Pro is not attached. How can I resolve this?
When you open an FS Pro 4.0 document that was last edited in a diffent version of Word, the toolbar is not attached. The reason this happens is because the main interface for FS Pro is different between Word 2003 and Word 2007. This is due to design differences in the two versions of Word and is not related to FS Pro.
To resolve this, click the Attach FS Pro to document button on the FS QuickStart toolbar each time you switch versions of Word.
Moving licenses
If I move to another job, can I take my license key and FSPro with me?
A license to use FS Pro belongs to the purchaser (the person or organization who paid for it). If your company paid for the license then they own it and it is their decision if you can take with your or not. You can purchase a new license to use at your new company in the Information Mapping Web Store.
How can I move my FS Pro license from one computer to the other?
First you have to deactivate your license key on your old computer, then you can activate FS Pro on your new computer using the same license key. You can find the appropriate procedures and tutorials to do this in the Installation Tutorials.
