Benefits
The Information Mapping® method provides significant benefits, both for the reader and for the writer.
For the reader
This chart shows the benefits of Information Mapping® for the reader:

For the writer
- A 57% decrease in the number of words in a document
- An 83% decrease in time to develop a first draft
- A 75% decrease in time to review a document
Background: research
No, we did not invent the numbers above. While at Harvard and Columbia universities, Robert E. Horn, Information Mapping®'s founder, conducted research about how readers deal with large amounts of information. This resulted in the Information Mapping® method, which is based on:
- learning theory
- human factors engineering, and
- cognitive science.
What our clients say
I never would have believed a three day workshop could have this kind of impact on the way I work. It's not only changed the way I write but also how I think about business communication. A very worthwhile investment for any company."
