Mapping Project Support

Learning the basics of the Information Mapping method is easy, but mastering the method and how to apply it effectively to complex materials takes practice and support. Information Mapping offers editing, mentoring, and project support services designed to help graduates of our workshops master their new skills and implement effective Information Mapping solutions within their organizations.

Application Workshops
Information Mapping's instructors will come to your location to conduct a hands-on Application Workshop with recent Information Mapping workshop graduates. Participants spend the day applying the Information Mapping method to their own materials. The instructor is nearby to help answer questions, offer support, and guide participants in the right direction.

Instructor-In-Residence Days
Bring an Information Mapping instructor to your location for a day of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with recent seminar graduates. The instructor will work with each participant to review their work, provide feedback, answer questions, and share advanced editing and writing "hints and tips."

Expert Review, Editing, and Mentoring
Information Mapping's internal experts can help your team improve their documents and refine their Information Mapping skills. Our experts will:

  • discuss the audience and purpose of the document with the author
  • review and edit the document, providing both general and specific feedback, and
  • follow up with a discussion to answer questions and help improve and develop the author's skills.

Project Support
Information Mapping can offer any level of support to help ensure that your Information Mapping development project is completed on time and on budget and gets the results you need. Our experts can help you:

  • analyze the audience and the purpose of the project
  • list tasks and knowledge topics
  • develop preliminary table(s) of content
  • design model documents and prototypes
  • define project standards
  • interview subject matter experts
  • develop some or all of the content, and
  • edit and review materials created by your internal development team.

Mapping Mentor Training
Information Mapping can help you develop your own internal Information Mapping Mentors to help novice 'Mappers' develop and improve their skills. The Information Mapping Editing WorkshopTM is an important part of the mentor development process.
