BMO rewrites cyber security framework and mitigates risk
BMO Financial Group, headquartered in Montreal, Canada, serves more than 12 million personal, commercial, corporate and institutional customers in North America and internationally. The company provides a broad range of retail banking, wealth management and investment banking products.
BMO's documentation was not keeping up with growing Information Security Operations (ISO) demands. Problems included incomplete or out-of-date information, confusing processes and hard-to-update critical documents.
BMO's management engaged the services of Information Mapping Canada (IMC) to solve their documentation issues. IMC's professional services team analyzed BMO's content and designed and developed critical documentation and workflows. Then IMC's certified instructors trained over 50 BMO team members, providing the department with the concepts and tools to maintain the new content.
The documentation rewrite project was seen as a significant success. Use of the Information Mapping Method increased productivity, improved service and reduced departmental costs.
